I believe in a country and a world where all human beings can live with their heads held high, without fear with peace, dignity and mutual understanding. I am convinced that every human being should enjoy equal rights irrespective of their caste, class, religion, gender, language, place of origin etc.
I am opposed to ideologies that seek to divide people. I will counter these ideologies by celebrating differences and plurality, and also by becoming empathetic to injustices done to others. I am greatly anguished that amidst the wealth and weapons in our country and in the world, hunger, homelessness, forcible displacement, war, strife, unemployment, discrimination, despair and hatred abounds.
My active solidarity is with all democratic and non-violent struggle for justice, communal harmony and peace. My commitment is to the universal values of humanism, justice and truth.
